Unfortunately, by the time physical symptoms of lead poisoning appear, levels of lead are already dangerously high. Children are especially vulnerable to lead and other heavy metal poisoning because they are in a stage of life when the body needs extra calcium and magnesium. If these essential minerals are deficient in a child's diet, then the body will readily absorb and try to use the heavy metal (mineral) instead.
However, even children that seem healthy can have
high levels of lead in their bodies. A national awareness has been
initiated and we have joined the forces to supply some general information
acquired from the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and
recommended nutritional information which may be helpful for chelating
lead out of the body, as well as preventing the body from absorbing lead
and other heavy metals.
