Lead Alert
Nutritional Tips for Lead Poisoning
-
Avoid products containing lead: Cans sealed
with lead solder, which leaches into foods; also be wary of imported canned
foods, which have no regulations governing the use of lead solder.
Lead-free cans have been welded and have no side seam.
-
Have your water tested to insure a safe level of
lead and other minerals. State health departments may conduct tests
for contaminants at a lower price. You may also call WaterWatch Hot
Line at 1-800-792-0092, or send away for the free booklet, Water
Quality Answers. Write to: The Water Quality Association,
4151 Naperville Road, Lisle, IL 60532. Enclose a self-addressed
envelope.
-
Add high fiber foods which include pectin (as found
in apples and carrots) and legumes, eggs, onions, garlic and sprouted nuts
and seeds. These will help draw out lead from the tissues.
-
Drink steam-distilled water only
-
Add a calcium/magnesium supplement (chelated)-
2000mg daily. Calcium and magnesium will prevent lead and other heavy
metals from depositing and re-depositing in the body.
-
Do not obtain calcium from dolomite, bone meal, or
cow's mild - these all may contain lead.
-
Add more zinc to your diet (adults - 80 mg daily).
Low levels of zinc have been found in people having high lead levels.
-
Vitamin C plus bioflavonoids with Rutin (2,000-10,000
mg) neutralizes the effects of lead.

Kelp and/or Alfalfa contains essential minerals,
especially calcium and magnesium, will help remove unwanted heavy metal
deposits. Assure the supplement is certified organic.
